This year the season started differently. Instead of our traditional game with Chesham we went on a Monmouthshire Valleys tour. The first normal outdoor game of the season was against Cippenham on Sunday 12th of May. The Chesham game is now on Sunday May 26th. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer than the 3º of last year.
Waterproof jackets and sunshades
A bit damp in your showerproof jackets then don’t worry waterproof jackets are available. They won’t be needed on the tour to the Monmouthshire Valleys as the sun always shines in Wales. David has sorted the sun problem as sun visors are also available. The waterproof jackets are the same pattern as the showerproof ones.
President’s welcome message
As the incoming President of the London Welsh Bowling Association I very much look forward to the coming season with great anticipation. We are playing 23 outdoor and around 14 indoor fixtures in the coming season. This includes our Pre Season Tour to Monmouthshire Valleys.
London Welsh has 125 members of the Association which includes over 30 ladies. Our Association continues to thrive in particular the social friendships and great welcome received at our matches. I continue to hear from members how much they enjoy playing for London Welsh which is the heart of our Association.
New Members are very welcome to join the Association having either Welsh ancestry or a Welsh affiliation. An application form and details can be downloaded from the web site at lwba.co.uk or can be obtained at matches.
To ensure we continue to thrive as an Association I ask our members to accept invitations to play in as many matches as possible.
We also value the contribution of past players who have retained their membership to keep in contact with the Association with our web site on lwba.co.uk used to provide valuable updated news and information.
I wish everybody an enjoyable and successful year to all our current members and a great welcome to new members during the 2019 Outdoor Season and 2019/20 indoor season.
